Jul. 11th, 2022 09:13 amI guess I got some decent writing done this weekend: the TKK story is almost complete, \o/. The remaining questions: how much do they kiss and how far does that go, and how long does my ending scene need to be? This is also a "soul bond but they don't know it and no one recognizes it" story, so I might need to go through and beef that up somewhat, and I need to add in more Johnny freaking out. But it is ending up about where I estimated, word-count wise.
I am not used to writing about teenagers, ha; I'm more here for old man Maverick, the Nancy Drew dads, Tatooine desert Obi-Wan, etc.
Speaking of, I rewatched Obi-Wan Kenobi this weekend, and enjoyed it more the second time through. I felt it ran a little slow the first time, but was prepared for the pacing this time around. I'm still so happy about Hayden Christensen coming back - I think I might even be happier about that than Andrew Garfield returning in SM:NWH. The weekend before last, I finished Book of Boba Fett, which I ended up enjoying a lot more than I expected (my expectations were very low) - really don't care much about actual Boba Fett the character, but if Disney is giving Temuera Morrison his own entire whole series, I will power through.
Rest of July writing goals, in order of importance: Besides wrapping up the TKK fic, I have another TG:M I'd like to finish this month, and I need to figure out what happens in something I started as a treat for RMSE but likely won't finish in time (but still want to finish!). Then maybe in August I can finish the other Peacemaker thing I have started.
I was going to work on Cobra Kai things this summer, ha... but I also knew TG:M was happening, and unlike some other pandemic-delayed movies that I'd been planning to hop back into fandoms for (looking at you, No Time to Die), nothing happened in TG:M to derail the pairing I figured I'd be into. Honestly I'm so amused that in 2019 I was like, "Oh no, am I going to want Maverick to bone Goose's kid?" and three years later here we are.
