[some have silver linings]

I kind of love that Penny is a little miffed at him in the beginning, and Pete accepts the gentle punishment with good grace, and doesn't really push anything with her other than just... being there. Like, if she hadn't invited him in, it doesn't seem like he would have tried very hard to initiate anything - he just lets the ball rest in her court.
According to my spreadsheet, I wrote 25,362 words in August. Um whaaaat. If only I could manage something even close to 25k every month! Almost 10k of that is the physical therapy AU, which passed ten thousand words last night when I opened it to add more to the ballgame scene and ended up adding more to two earlier scenes as well.
You guys know I am usually the fic author who arrives two or three years late to a fandom, tosses her stuff up on AO3 and figures someone who wants to read it will find it eventually, and my idea of promotion is to sometimes make a tumblr post. Suddenly arriving not super late to a fandom is wild! On several levels, because... how is it encouraging to slower writers or people who might be working on something that's long and takes more time, when a lot of the readers that are there now will have moved to something else in six months? This is why I like showing up way late, haha, then I don't have to worry about this stuff and just fling my fic out into the void.
September's fic goals are +12,000 words across current projects. August's goals were +17,000 words - at the beginning I honestly thought my goal number for the PT AU was overly optimistic and I ended up blowing past it, so let's hope I can at least keep motivated on that story. I am hoping to have the rough draft done by the end of the month - I think.
