lakeeffectgirlThis year for Yuletide I got an AMAZING Nancy Drew (TV) story, The Peril of the Grocery Run (Love Wasn't On the List), with so many of my favorite things in it that I am still 100% delighted three days later! And at the Venom Holiday Exchange I received a super cute piece about Venom and Eddie attempting to make cookies (and failing), and Venom decorating cupcakes for Eddie: A Total Success. Two stories with my favorite AO3 tag, food as a metaphor for love! \o/
I have two works in the main Yuletide collection, two in Madness, and three in the Venom exchange collection, and will link after reveals. If you'd like to guess what I wrote before then and are correct, I will write your choice of snippets (or attempt to, lol). Everything in the Venom exchange collection is delightful and there's a lot of fun art, so if you like Venom please just peruse in general! I haven't done a single fandom holiday exchange in more than ten years and it was fun.
Also speaking of fic, Spider-Man: No Way Home has caused a run on the The Social Network category at AO3, and been at this far too long has racked up three times as many hits in seven days as it normally gets in ten. (Yes, I keep track of AO3 stats for my top twenty-five stories, something I started doing last year right when the pandemic started to see what people were reading more/less of - hilariously enough, my best day was when I posted an Obi-Wan/Anakin sex pollen story last summer.)
Shout-out to everyone who sent a holiday card this year - I got a larger haul than most years! I also actually sent out my own cards this year (BenAffleckCarryingPresents.jpg) and while I ~borrowed~ this year's artwork, I would very much like to commission someone to do similar art for me next year. If you know of an artist who'd be interested please let me know.
