General likes: food as a metaphor for love, hurt/comfort, people being sweet to each other, people taking care of each other, daddykink if you want to go there (even just a little), people being good at their jobs, people buying other people presents (like fancy clothes, that they then help the other person get dressed in), space AUs (sentient spaceships yes please), AUs where people are scientists (marine biologists, Arctic researchers, that sort of thing) or archaeologists.
Gen, het, slash, I am pretty much open to anything, and any rating, so don't feel like you need to write something NC-17 or a genre that's that's not what you are comfortable writing. The only AUs I'm not into reading are the high school AU and A/B/O universes. Honestly, the only thing I really do not want to read in fic are kinks involving bathroom functions, super-angsty infidelity issues, extreme violence (canon-typical violence is fine), misogynistic violence against women, and I'd prefer no character death unless it's already in canon.
If you have an idea you really want to do that you're not sure I'll like, please contact me through the mods to ask! But I am pretty much open to anything outside of hard DNWs.
Fandom-specific prompts/notes/thoughts:
Letterkenny
(Note: I have not watched the most recent season yet but don't let that dissuade you from whatever ideas you might have.)
First off, if we matched on this show, writer, then I salute you so hard for going down this path. I love almost everything about this show, even the weird Skids even if they are sometimes the most annoying characters possible.
I love the flat-out times that Katy's bisexuality is mentioned and yet no one on the show even blinks. I'd love to see her and Bonnie actually try it out - maybe they date and it just doesn't work out in the end, or they date and actually fall in love. Maybe Bonnie moves in, much to McMurray's chagrin.
I love that no one even blinked at Katy dating Reilly and Jonesy at the same time. Tell me a story from before the show begins - how do they end up in this poly-maybe-threesome relationship?
I love Reilly and Jonesy's platonic commitment to each other. How would they navigate going from platonic to romantic? Or just a bunch of gay chicken things that turn into ~more~? I'd also be into a story that's more focused on small-town hockey and the grind of riding a shitty bus everywhere. Or maybe how they deal with the disappointment of not being good enough to go anywhere after their overage year in junior except for Letterkenny senior. I'd also be interested in something set more in the future - they're dumb and they clearly have no future plans!!
I would also love something that mixes and matches any of the above notes. (Really I would enjoy anything for this fandom, even an AU-style thing with soulbonding, wings, writing on skin identifies who your soulmate is, etc., any of that.)
Generation Kill
Here is my #1 request: Brad Colbert being the weirdo he is!! AUs are great, tropes are great - space? Apocalypse? Brad the deep-sea diver, who is terrified of the ocean and thus fascinated by it?
Whatever pairing we matched on, I am always into trope-fic for this show. Soulbonds, writing on skin, arranged marriage, "you need healthcare so you might as well marry me" styles of marriage of convenience.
I'm not too into the in-theater fic, so something set after they get back from Iraq, or set after Nate or Brad (or whoever) is out of the Corps. Tell me what happens when Character A and Character B are both at some sort of reunion party or someone's wedding ten years out from OIF and find they're both divorced and at at least a little bit queer.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
I was honestly not expecting, when I went to see this with my dad in the theater, that a Quentin Tarantino picture would be my favorite movie of 2019. Five minutes into it I was biting my hand so that I wouldn't yell "oh my god, do they not realize they're in LOVE?" out loud. It probably wasn't even five minutes. It was probably in the opening interview scene.
Into: friends with benefits, soulbond, backstory - maybe tell me about their slightly more wild days doing Bounty Law? - threesomes with Francesca in Italy or back in LA, poly things like Francesca understanding right from the start that Cliff and Rick have ~a thing~ that she's okay with them still continuing, the three of them hanging out with Sharon and the baby or just hanging out with Brandy, roadtripping up/down the coast, the idea that Cliff did kill his wife* (whether accidentally or not) and Rick knows/helped him cover it up, Cliff acting as caretaker during a period where Rick is basically self-medicating his mental illness with alcohol and it making him think about and/or confront what he did in the war and the effect it had on him.
* w/r/t this request vs my DNWS - I would read this story, and do indeed think that he canonically killed her, please keep the actual death off-screen if you go this route
Fandom-specific DNWs: ignoring Francesca if the story is set in a time when she would have been part of Rick's life, giving them a shitty breakup, Roman Polanski.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars
I love one (1) animated Obi-Wan Kenobi, especially when being taken care of - physically, mentally, any way - by Cody and/or Rex. I also love that this is essentially a show about a war, with all those war-situation caretaking possibilities. I would read any sort of H/C for any of these pairings! I would also read Obi-Wan and Cody (or Rex, if he's your fave!) staying together when Obi has to go into hiding after the fall of the Republic, and any sort of slice of life in the sands of Tatooine. (Would definitely read them visiting the Lars farm a lot and being Luke's weird uncles.)
Would also be into: Ventress, after Dooku excommunicates her, turns to Obi-Wan instead of going to Dathomir (or maybe Obi-Wan accompanies her to Dathomir for all that Mother Talzin magic stuff). Or maybe Ventress & Obi-Wan team up for an adventure during her time as a bounty hunter, and either have ALL the UST, or just get it on after all.
For Anakin/Ahsoka, if set during the show: definitely into soft caretaking situations for them, or "we're trapped on this planet and have only each other for warmth/comfort" sort of things. I don't want to get into huge ideas that would probably ask an author to go way beyond minimum word count, but I would ALWAYS read an AU where Ahsoka doesn't leave the Order and this is enough to stop Anakin from turning, or the Jedi figure out the Chancellor's plans before he can completely turn Anakin and Ahsoka returns to help defeat him. My only real request for this pairing is that Padmé be treated gently - no shitty breakups, or killing her off, that sort of thing - and if Anakin/Padmé is also part of the story, that is cool with me. For example: you could send her into hiding somewhere with the expectation that she and Anakin (and Ahsoka if you want) will eventually reunite.
Definitely feel free to mix and match the above ideas!
Hockey RPF: Mike Richards/Jeff Carter
I suppose I'm requesting this just in the interests of comfort and nostalgia!! It's no secret that Mike Richards is still one of my favorites. And you can write me a sad ending story here, no worries. They had their time together and it still ended the way it really ended IRL. If you want to do a "Richie's got post-concussion syndrome and is hiding it (and that's why he actually retired)" story, do it.
Also I understand that:
me: I am requesting Carts/Richie in the interests of comfort and nostalgia
also me: you can totally write something with a sad ending where Richie has PCS if you want
probably doesn't seem to go together, haha. But being mean to Mike Richards in fanfiction was ummmmmmmmmm basically my jam the whole time I was in hockey fandom.
(You definitely don't have to write anything sad, or angsty Richie! I would be just as happy with a story where they end up together. I'd also read a ridiculous AU such as a competitive fishing AU, or Mike and Jeff knew each other in Jrs but now Mike owns a bakery and Jeff is still a hockey player, or the one where Mike has a YouTube channel where he catches fish and then shows you how to cook whatever sort of fish it is, and Jeff is still Jeff but a fan of the channel.)
